Duke graduate nursing programs

Duke Nursing is committed to supporting candidates who have recently graduated, as they gain confidence and skill in their transition from the role of student to professional nurse. New nursing graduates at Duke University Health System participate in our Nurse Residency Program, designed to smooth the transition from student nurse to professional nurse.

New nurses from across the patient care spectrum explore topics in leadership, professional roles, critical thinking, and patient outcomes. Clinical experts and nursing leaders guide discussions and interactive experiences, but most importantly, this is an opportunity for new nurses to share their experiences with other new nurses. Each major requires you to complete 11 credit hours of clinical core courses. As a final synthesis experience, students are required to complete a final clinical residency under the mentorship of an experienced clinician in their respective area of expertise.

The minimum number of credit hours required for completion of the MSN degree varies by major, ranging from 42 to 49 credit hours. Upon graduation, students are qualified to sit for the appropriate certification examination. More News from Duke Today. Friday, January 14 am to am Register. Friday, January 14 pm to pm Online.
