The case competition was expanded to include a preliminary round, where teams prepared a written response to an evaluation case, and the top three teams were invited to Ottawa to compete in the final round.
The final round of the case competition was moved to the CES annual conference, where teams would have a larger audience for their presentations and opportunities to network with other evaluators. The CES National Council took ownership of the competition to further build it as a national student development initiative. Students in an online evaluation program created a virtual team for the preliminary round. They made it to the final round and met each other for the first time at the conference!
